앨범설명
이미 3장의 앨범으로 가요계와 팬들에게 그 가치를 입증한 박효신이었지만 그동안의 비정상적인 수익구조를 이유로 전 소속사와의 계약만료 후 자신이 직접 회사를 차리게 된다. 비록 음원 불법 다운로드가 본격적으로 성행하며 전 작에 비해 음반 판매량은 현저히 감소했지만, 자신의 회사가 제작한 첫 앨범인 만큼 음악에서부터 자켓까지 정성이 담긴 것을 느낄 수 있다. 2년이라는 긴 준비기간이 무색하지 않은 박효신의 역작이다.
2주 연속 음악방송 1위를 지킨 타이틀곡 "그곳에 서서"는 멜로디, 가사에 녹아드는 애절한 보이스가 마치 한 편의 슬픈 영화 같다. 어쿠스틱 사운드의 알앤비 느낌이 강한 "나처럼", 노래는 물론 피아노의 연주만으로도 눈물이 흐를 것만 같은 "그 흔한 남자여서" 등 박효신을 대표하는 트랙들이 즐비하다. 또한 "친구라는 건"과 "몰랐죠"에서는 각각 김범수와 Ann이 힘을 더해주고 있다.
3집 앨범 성공의 일등공신 신재홍이 프로듀싱하고 이소라, 김현철, 이기찬, 하림 등 유명 뮤지션들이 대거 참여한 크레딧을 보기만 해도 감동이 밀려오는 듯하다. 그리고 그에 걸맞은 박효신의 노래는 한층 더 성숙하여 애절함이 전 앨범을 통틀어 절정에 이르러 있다. 탄탄한 한국적 발라드에 소울을 가미하여 계속해서 성장한 그의 네 번째 앨범은 칭찬받아 마땅한 작품이다.
