박재범, ‘ASK BOUT ME’
‘Roc Nation’과의 계약 이후 공개된 박재범의 첫 EP ‘ASK BOUT ME’는 이전에 발매된 ‘SOJU (Feat. 2 Chainz)’, ‘FSU (Feat. GASHI, Rich The Kid)’ 외에도 Roc Nation 아티스트 ‘Vic Mensa’가 참여하며 한국어 버전과는 또 다른 매력을 선사하는 ‘YACHT (Feat. Vic Mensa), 감미로운 보컬이 돋보이는 R&B인 ‘SEXY 4 EVA’, ‘MILLION’이 수록되는 등 앨범 타이틀의 의미와 걸맞게 박재범만의 다양한 모습을 함축하여 담아낸 앨범이다.
더불어 박재범은 EP ‘ASK BOUT ME’에 수록된 모든 곡들을 국내 레이블 소속 프로듀서들과 작업하며 완벽한 팝 사운드를 구사하였고, 동시에 아시아인이자 한국인으로써의 긍지와 자부심에 대한 메시지를 전달하면서 EP ‘ASK BOUT ME’를 미국 내 일반적인 힙합, R&B 앨범들과는 또 다른 차별 점을 두고있다.
