그룹 투모로우바이투게더(TOMORROW X TOGETHER)가 5월 3일 디지털 싱글 ‘Cat & Dog (English ver.)’을 발표하며 전 세계 팬들에게 깜짝 선물을 선사한다.
‘Cat & Dog (English ver.)’은 투모로우바이투게더의 데뷔 앨범 ‘꿈의 장: STAR’의 수록곡 ‘Cat & Dog’의 가사를 영어로 번안한 곡이다. 누군가를 만나면서 24시간 함께 있고 싶은 마음을 애완동물과 집사와의 관계로 빗대어 표현했다. 멤버들의 멈블 랩(Mumble Rap)이 돋보이는 곡으로, 트랩(Trap) 리듬 위에 마림바 멜로디가 더해져 귀여운 분위기를 연출한다.

‘Cat & Dog (English ver.)’ 뮤직비디오는 ‘Feel like I’m your cat I’m your dog’, ‘Can I be a pet’, ‘널 만나면 난 강아지가 되지, 지루한 이 집사 놀이 대신, 너와 놀고 싶어 프리스비’ 등 고양이와 강아지를 연상케 하는 가사에 모티브를 얻어 고양이와 강아지의 속마음으로 이야기를 확장했다.
주인을 기다리며 주인의 세계를 상상하는 강아지와 고양이의 모습으로 시작되는 뮤직비디오는 온갖 크고 작은 물건들이 쌓여 만들어진 거대한 캣타워를 발전시킨 세트와 구조물, 애완동물의 놀이 소품 등이 강아지와 고양이를 표현한 제스처 및퍼포먼스와 조화를 이뤄 노래의 귀여운 분위기가 더욱 돋보인다.
